Net Juggler : a single image VR juggler clusterWe developped Net Juggler, a software laying on top of VR Juggler. Net Juggler turns a cluster where each node supports VR Juggler into a single VR Juggler image machine. In other words, from the user's point of view it (almost) does not make any difference to run a VR Juggler application on a cluster, a single PC or a SGI Onyx (from the operational point of view and not from the performance point of view). VR Juggler is an open source project started in 1997 at VRAC, Iowa State University. VR Juggler is a virtual reality framework hiding the underlying machine complexity and specificity (devices, displays and computer). It supports several tracking systems, gloves, and input devices and can probably control any display configuration, like head mounted display or 6 sided Caves. At this moment, VR juggler has been ported to numerous platforms, like IRIX, Windows, Solaris and Linux. |
